Josh is an engineer from California, Zhang is an injection mold tooling expert in
China.
For several years Josh outsourced tooling at the Chinese factory that Zhang
worked
at. Overtime the two established a great working relationship and Josh provided
the
factory with a large amount of their business. At a certain point in time Josh
lost
trust with the factory sales staff and needed to seek out a new supplier,
simultaneously Zhang was interested in breaking out and taking his experience
independent. Josh and Zhang decided to go into business together with the new
entity
Zen Molds.

We only do real injection mold tooling. Far too many companies and trying to
increase their customer base by promoting tools that aren't actually
injection
mold tools. This includes 3D molds (they don't work) aluminum molds (they
don't
last), and different types of compression molds (which we will broker out in
many cases but they are not to be confused with injection molds).
Our industry is unfortunately full of groups offering a great deal on a mold
that
isn't a great deal once it's done. We're industry focused and serious about
the
tools we make.
Our engineering and service is done in California, our tooling is made in China. China has long established itself as the high quality tooling center of the global market; making a mold in China is said to be as much as 3x faster than making it in the USA (which time frame is usually explained by the US groups requiring extra time to ship the molds in from China while only pretending to make them in the US). The communication and service is all US based and will be done to American business standards.
